I'm a bloody moron. I just turned into this thing, I don't know what, and all of a sudden, I want to fight bloody demons! Spiderman gave me perfectly clear and good reasons for not tagging along, here I be, along for the ride like a wee idiot.
Pan got us here, then Spiderman made her go home.
"But why can't I help? Angus is gonna stay here." she begged.
"Angus has to make his own decisions for now." declared Spiderman, "If your father, or your mother for that matter, found out I let you stay, I'd be a dead wall-crawler."
Now don't ask me how this happened, but while me father was a Protestant, me mother was Catholic. That being the case, I knew enough to recognize who was fighting Gaia.
"The Archangel Michael!" I gasped.
Spiderman looked up, "Oh boy. Well while they're having fun, we have our own problems. Demons ahoy!"
I looked, and saw a demon charging straight at us. I charged too. At the last second, I jumped and extended both feet toward it. The resulting collision left the demon crushed, but before I could attack another one, Spiderman grabbed me with a web, and pulled me onto the roof of a building where he was standing.
"Not bad for your first one kid, but before we do anything more, I want you to repeat to me what I told you."
I sighed. "Rule one: follow instinct. I probably don't know about all of me powers yet, so if they manifest themselves during a fight, don't stop to wonder. Just flow.
"Rule two: try not to kill the badguys, they may turn.
"Rule three: Never kill an innocent."
"Good, so let's fight."
Just before Spiderman swung off, I said, "Wait!"
"What?"
"What I said earlier, my father said it all the time. He was a boxer."
"Right."
Alright, now to kick some demon-arse.
